Yes, spring is almost here! Daylight savings time starts tomorrow. It is a time of excitement, new plans for the upcoming show season. We are busy here in the saddle shop getting a couple of saddle rebuilds completed. Also, need to get clients back for final fittings on their new show chaps. Sping in Ontario, there is nothing that quite compares, folks are all getting cabin fever & the need for warmer weather.
There are a couple of major of equine events occurring in the next few weeks - All Equine, London ON featuring Al Dunning and Can-Am Equine, Markham ON featuring Guy McLean and his awesome equine partners.
Over the winter we have gotten to work on a couple new saddles; SC Reiner & SC Cowhorse both being built on Timberline trees, pictures to be posted soon!
Well, the ground hog saw his shadow! and we have been in deep freeze since today is -34 C. We have a horse in training, the young gelding "Dexter"
is taking it all in stride. According to the trainer "not much gets to him" "he does what is asked" The foundation is laid, stops, rollbacks, spins, head set is nice, now it is to take him off the farm and see how things go! It is often a big step for our horses to adapt from the safety of home to show pen, it is our responsibility to make it positive learning experience. Stay tuned to see how things progress .
Well with 2015 well under way and I am procastinating doing the year end book keeping. So, I thought I would attempt the process of adding a blog page to our web-site. New Year = try something new.
We have spent time looking at the wide range of shows that are slated in Ontario this spring & summer. Lots going on.... the relatively short season of nice weather means multiple shows on every weekend. Have you made a plan? or are you set and know exactly when to book your precious vacation time. We look forward to seeing many friends & forming new friendships!
